30-Day Book Challenge: Day 4

30 Day Book Challenge (2)
Hey Guys!
Happy Thursday! Welcome to Day 4 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!

Day 1 (24)

Rowdy is the fifth book in the Marked Men series by Jay Crownover and it is also my favorite book in the series. It is told from the dual POV’s of our main characters Rowdy St. James and Salem Cruz. Rowdy never thought he would see Salem again after she left Texas and drove out of his life. But here she is, now in Denver working at the new tattoo parlor. Salem’s sister, had left Rowdy heartbroken and turned off to love, but now that Salem is here, Rowdy starts to realize that he may have been chasing after the wrong Cruz. Salem has always felt something between Rowdy and her, but she doesn’t know if she can trust it. Deciding to take a leap, Salem lets Rowdy in. But when Salem’s sister shows up at her doorstep, things change and Salem finds herself having to choose between family and the man she loves.
There are many reasons for why this book is my favorite. First, I’m a sucker for childhood love blossoming into something more and Rowdy and Salem definitely have that going. Second, Salem is such a strong female character. She did not have the best upbringing and she’s been on her own since she was eighteen. She doesn’t mess around, she knows what she wants and she goes after it. Third, this book introduces us to many of the characters who will be in the spin-off series, The Saints of Denver, and it was so fun seeing who was going to paired up with who and I can’t wait for the release of the first book in January. Fourth, the plot for this story is much darker than the rest and I was crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Fifth, there were many happy, unexpected surprises that led to great character development for characters in the previous books. Again, I LOVE this series…so much feels!

That’s all for this post! Until tomorrow…

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!
