The TBR Book Tag

triple banded

Hey Guys!
It’s Monday, my least favorite day of the week! Anyway, I’m back with another tag. I was tagged by Analee @ Book Snacks to do the TBR Book Tag. As bookworms, we all know how important TBR piles are. They can be so demanding and they take up so much of our time, but we still love them anyways. Plus, without them, I wouldn’t know which book to read next! Okay enough rambling, let’s begin!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

The oh-so-reliable Goodreads. Without it, my reading life would pretty much be a mess. Since many of the books I read are a part of a series, Goodreads helps me to keep track of all the books in the series as well as the order they go in. Also, because of the little recommendation sidebar, I am able to find more books to add to my TBR. You can never have too many books on your TBR, right?

Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?

Most of the books on my TBR are print. I prefer reading a physical copy of a book over the e-book because then I can display it on my library and I get to look at all the pretty covers!

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

If I am reading a series, I will usually continue reading the series until I have read all the books. But most of the time I pick books at random and I usually read two books at once that are of different genres (e.g., one book is fantasy and the other book is contemporary). I have found that this is the best way for me to avoid reading slumps because if I get bored of one book I can just always pick up the other until I’m ready to continue reading the first book.

A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?

I’m going to go with The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher. Every month I tell myself I’m going to start this series, but then a new book is released or there are other books that I want to get to first and I never get a chance to pick start it. One day, one day I will read this series!

A book you recently added to your TBR?

The last book I added to my TBR was The Same Deep Water by Lisa Swallow. I don’t know what this book is about, I just added it because the cover was pretty…

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?

My pick goes to The Last of the Firedrakes by Farah Oomerbhoy. This book was originally posted on Wattpad and I am big fan of Wattpad. I love when writers get their books published, seeing all their hard work pay off, so of course this book made it on my TBR. But first, can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous that cover it. I want her dress!

A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?

I’m going to say Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. This is long, very long and I’m not ready yet to make that commitment and pick this up. I don’t have the time and also I am not a big fan of historical fiction so this one may be sitting on my TBR for a while.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?

I AM SOOOO EXCITED FOR THIS! I CAN’T EVEN! ALL I WANT TO DO IS JUMP UP AND DOWN! The book i’m talking about is Remembrance (Mediator #7) by Meg Cabot (it doesn’t even have a cover yet!). I LOVE THIS SERIES. I’ve read it so many time; the characters, the plot, the amusing situations these characters find themselves in. I just want to book, I NEED IT!

A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?

I really feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t picked up this series. I heard such great things about the The Rave Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and its quirky cast of characters, but I have yet to start it and I probably won’t get to it until next year.

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

While I do love fantasy, I’m not really big on politics in books, which is why I wasn’t interested in reading Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. But everyone I know just love this book and they are excited for the sequel so I gave into the peer pressure and added it to my TBR.

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?

I want to read The Queen of the Tearling By Erika Johansen so BAD! I was not interested in reading this series because of the heavy politics, but then I saw the hardcover edition and now I want to read it just because of the cover. I’m hoping to pick this book up next month. *Crosses Fingers*

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

I currently have 103 books on my TBR. I know that is not a lot compared to others, but 62 of the book are a part of a series and since I only add the first in a series on my TBR, the rest of the books in those series are not included in the count. Most of these series have an average of three books, so that’s about 186 books, give or take. But I keep adding to this pile everyday so I don’t think I will be completing my TBR anytime soon…but who is, right?

This tag was fun, but now I just feel like adding more books to my TBR, which I is something I clearly don’t need to do. I am also going to tag a few of people to join in on the fun.

I Tag:

Sara @ Freadom Library
Calliope @ Calliope the Book Goddess
Bianca @ The Ultimate Fangirl
Aira @ Aira Reads
MC @ Blame It on the Books
& YOU!
If I tagged you and you already did it or if you don’t want to, feel free to ignore this.

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!
