Welcome to Day 24 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!
My pick for this challenge goes to Unspeakable by Michelle K. Pickett.
This book follows Willow Rutherford who is a senior in high school. On the outside, it seems like she has it all: friends, the jock boyfriend, popularity, but looks can be deceiving.Willow has a secret, a secret hidden by long sleeve shirts and makeup. Brody Victor, the new kid in town, is instantly drawn to Willow. He sees behind her facade and he wants to help her. But it’s going to be harder than he thinks, the first step being the hardest: getting Willow to accept his help.
I know my summary is a bit vague, but I think that it is best to go into this book knowing as little as possible. I adore this story. This book deals with a number of dark themes and it’s surprising that many people don’t stand up for Willow, even though they can see that something is not right. I kind of wanted to slap some characters because of this. It was not at all what I expected. It was dark. It was heartbreaking. It was beautiful. READ IT!
That’s all for this post! Until tomorrow…
