Synopsis via Goodreads: Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned.

Sarai’s reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she’ll do it alone no matter the consequences. Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor begins to train her and inevitably their complicated relationship heats up.

As Arthur Hamburg’s right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to destroy Sarai, she is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

End of book reaction- (26)2

In the Company of Killers has completely taken over my life as I binge read one book after the other. I didn’t think it could get any crazier, but the twist and turns are never-ending in this series and the second installment gave me HEART PALPITATIONS! Let’s get started with this FANGIRL review!

It has been months since Sarai last saw Victor Faust. Attempting to pick up her life and attain some sense of normalcy, Sarai goes about her day trying her best to forget her old life in Mexico as a sex slave. But she can’t seem to forget Victor and his dark life of crime, so she sets out to take her revenge on a sick, sadistic bastard that Victor should’ve killed when he had the chance. But her plans of revenge are short lived when things fall apart and a target is put on her back.

Not willing to let her die, Victor takes Sarai into hiding. Sarai decides that normalcy is not the life for her and that she wants to Victor her to teach her the skills of his trade. No longer Sarai, Izabel Seyfried has taken her place and is here to stay. Can Izabel truly live the life of an assassin, taking one life at a time, or will her choices inevitably get her killed?

This book was INTENSE! Everything was turned up a notched and I enjoyed the second installment to this series even more than the first. It just keeps getting better and better with each installment! Redmerski does NOT hold back. No one is safe and NO ONE can be trusted. The characters tend to say one thing, and then do another so trying to guess where the story is headed is completely pointless. YOU WON’T SEE WHAT’S COMING NEXT!

The addition of new character Fredrik Gustavsson added so much more to the story. Fredrik is a very complex individual, but I don’t want to give too much away since his story is the next installment and I will discuss my feelings towards him there. However, I did want to touch upon the developing friendship between Fredrik and Izabel and how these two are a really good team. They are basically cut from the same cloth and they are the only ones who understand each other and the reason for why they do the things they do. Izabel helped Fredrik to open up and he even confides in her. It’s not a perfect friendship, but the fact that these two can even find some way to trust each other is amazing, especially after all the sh!t they’ve been through.

Now, let’s talk about the romance between our MCs, Victor and Izabel. HOLY SH!T, that was HOT!! I originally pegged Victor as being a world-class asshole, but there is a heart underneath that tough exterior. It may be hard to find and Izzy may be the one that has the map that leads to his heart (super cheesy). But don’t get it twisted folks, it’s not your typical romance. These two may be hot and heavy, but they have some major issues that have yet to be resolved. I am rooting so hard for them though!

The KILLER PLOT-TWIST ending made my jaw drop! I didn’t even for one second think that something like that would even be considered a possibility. Well done, Redemerski, well done INDEED!

I simply cannot get enough of this series and I will immediately be diving into the next book. Fredrik’s story will probably be the darkest of all. The Jackal is coming out to play which means NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is safe. Sharpen your knives and load your weapons because it’s about to get even more sinister!

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!
