August Wrap-Up & September Most Anticipated Releases

Hey Guys!

Wrap-up time is HERE!

August is finally over and that means the summer is coming to an end! I’m so ready for Fall and for this humidity to go away so my curls will go back to not being such a frizzy mess. I had a pretty damn good reading month, mainly because of my  binge-reading of the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series. These characters have been so good to me, I’m going to cry so hard when this series comes to an end.

Let’s get started!

I read a total of 11 books this months! I probably could’ve read more, but the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series was taking up all my time and I didn’t feel like multi-reading. THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD! GO READ IT NOW!

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover | ★★★½ | A book with a powerful message, but the one-dimensional characters and fast-paced plot kept this book from reaching its true potential.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff | ★★★★ | A dark and twisted beginning to what could possibly be an epic adult fantasy series. I am excited for the sequel.
Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn | ★★ | My worst read book for 2016. That is all.
Addicted to You by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★ | An emotional and realistic portrayal of what it’s like to be an addict. Also the beginning of my new favorite series.
Ricochet by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★ |  So much more than just a filler, this book tore me to pieces.
Addicted For Now by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★★ | The sequel that gave me all the feels as our two main characters continued to make progress on the road to recovery.
Kiss the Sky by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★★ | A spin-off series that is just as good as the original. Coballoway is life goals and my new favorite OTP.
Hothouse Flower by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★ | Filled with new adventures and self-discovery, this sequel did not disappoint!
Thrive by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★½ | While not an unnecessary installment, this book is probably my least favorite book in the Addicted series.
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige | ★★ | When geometrical relationships overtake the plot and turn what could’ve been an epic fantasy into another cliché romance.

Addicted After All by Krista & Becca Ritchie | ★★★★★ | A beautiful and tear-jerking ending to an epic love story. LiLo finally got their HEA!

Book Recommendations: Why It’s Not Always Give & Take

The Goal by Elle Kennedy | Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

YOU GUYS, THE GOAL! OMFG! TUCKER’S BOOK! HOLY CRAP! Like, I plan to pull an all-nighter when this releases. I’ve been waiting months for this book and after the way The Score ended, I need to know what happens next!

I’m also looking forward to reading Empire of Storms and seeing more of my faves!

I decided to make a new Bookstagram and have another go at it. I’ve managed to keep at it for a week, which is a good thing because again I tend to lose interest pretty quickly. Also, this is me attempting at self-promotion, so if you wish to follow my feed, HERE’S THE LINK.

That is all for the month of August! Feel free to check out any of the above posts mentioned if you haven’t done so already.

Let me know in the comments which September release you are most excited for!

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!

  1. I still have to read The Score but I’m already excited for The Goal. I need that book on my life. Good thing I waited until now to read the series. At least I don’t have to wait months for The Goal 😀
I really need to keep reading the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series. It seems like you loved and if the other books are as good as Addicted to You I know I’ll love it
