Synopsis via Goodreads: Protect your family. At all costs.

It’d take the impossible to hurt Connor Cobalt, even for a moment.

Protect your family. At all costs.

At twenty-six, his narcissistic tendencies have made room for the people he loves.

Protect your family. At all costs.

And he loves Rose. But when his love is threatened, when his greatest dreams with her are compromised — what is the cost then?

Protect your family. At all costs.

Love will guide his choices.

For the first time in his life.

After having read and completely loving Kiss the Sky, I was excited to start Fuel the Fire to get more of my Coballoway fix. Kiss the Sky was my favorite book in the Calloway Sisters series…WAS being the operative word here because Fuel the Fire has taken its place and is now MY FAVORITE book in this series. I thought I had already seen all the parts that make up Rose and Connor, but these two surprised me yet again and I have fallen even more in love with these characters.

Fuel the Fire turns up the tension as Connor and Rose face new challenges that will put their relationship to the test. As new parents, Connor and Rose are willing to protect their daughter at all cost, even if that means putting the spotlight on themselves to keep the media at bay. But when his past threatens to harm everything he and Rose have built together, Connor will go to great lengths to protect his family. No matter the cost.

THIS BOOK IS THE BOMB DOT FREAKIN’ COM. I am always amazed at the fact that these books just get better and better as the series goes on. This is such a rare thing because I’m so used to the highs and lows that happen when binge-reading a series, but that is not the case here. I have yet to come off the high this series has given me and now that I’m so close to the end, I’m pretty sure this high will stay with me until the end. Once again, the authors tackle a number of important issues throughout this book and they handle each issue with care. There is no over dramatization. IT’S REALISTIC, RAW, EMOTIONAL. I absolutely love how the theme of sexuality was handled in this book. As a society, we have this need to label things, to neatly organize and define every little thing in life. But the authors attempt to do away with these labels and show that who we love should not define who us as people. People should be able to openly love whomever they choose and not have their character questioned and I loved this. They also touch upon feminism as Rose is a strong, independent, career-driven woman who doesn’t let anyone stand in her way. Now that she’s a mother, many expected her to change, to become a little less rough around the edges and to be more affectionate, to take care of her family first. But she proves that she can have it both, to be a mother and have a thriving career. Women can have it all, despite what the media says. I applaud these authors for handling these issues with such care.

COBALLOWAY IS SERIOUSLY LIFE GOALS! I am obsessed with this couple and I thought I’d seen it all, but we get to see a whole new side that is Connor and Rose. Connor wants a large family, but Rose is hesitant because she doesn’t want to bring a child into the world where their actions will be scrutinized by the media 24/7. This is an on-going conversation between these two throughout this book and it just broke my heart because these two only want to be happy but it’s not that easy. We also get to see another side of Connor, a side I thought I’d never see. Connor completely broke down in this book and became vulnerable and I was a sobbing mess. I never thought I’d see Connor Cobalt shed a tear and he became this better version of himself. Also, the sexy times were off the charts, like who would’ve thought these two could get any hotter?! THEY ARE ONE HELL OF A POWER COUPLE AND WILL FOREVER BE MY NUMBER ONE OTP.

Fuel the Fire went above and beyond and I couldn’t ask for a more perfect ending for Coballoway. It hurts so much to have to say goodbye to these two, but I can’t wait to re-read this book and experience these emotions again. Coballoway FTW!

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!
