April Wrap-Up & May Most Anticipated Releases

Hey Guys!

First and foremost, I want to apologize for not responding to any of my blog comments this month. I literally have no excuse other than pure laziness on my part, but I’m going to get back to blog hopping and responding to comments this month so hopefully I can make up for all those missed comments soon. April went by way too fast and I already feel the humidity rising in NYC. I hate summer and I’m not ready for it. 😫😑

Let’s get started!

I read a total of 18 books and DNF-ed Shacking Up by Helena Hunting. I was not a fan of that book because it reminded me a lot like Pucked and that was torturous to read so I didn’t want to have to go through that again. But I did read a lot of great books this month and my favorite read for this month definitely goes to Pucked Off. Lance is just everything. *swoons*

American Street by Ibi Zoboi | ★★★★ | A captivating ownvoices debut with amazing characters, rich culture and so much heart..
It Happened on Love Street by Lia Riley | ★★★½| A sweet and hilarious small town romance that reminded me why I fell in love with these types of romances in the first place.
Girl Out of Water  by Laura Silverman | ★★★★ | The perfect summer read about family, friendship and self-discovery.
Trophy Wife  by Alessandra Torre | ★★★★½ | Intoxicating, erotic, sensual and just downright dirty, this re-release has everything a dark romance reader is looking for.
Noteworthy by Riley Redgate | ★★★★½ | An amazing ownvoices story and Riley Redgate has outdone herself once again!
Pipe Dreams by Sarina Bowen | ★★★★ | A slow-burning, second-chance romance that will steal your heart!
Mini Reviews: Forbidden Love, A Nerdy Hero & A Romance With A Twist | Reviews include: Goodbye Paradise, Co-Wrecker and Take Me Back.

I’ve been wanting to step my IG game up for a while now, so I finally ordered a few props and taught myself how to use my Canon camera and TA-DA! I’m really in love with my new feed. I wanted something simple, clean with just a pop of color and I think I’ve successfully accomplished that. I’ve also been more active on IG so if you love romance books, with the occasional YA, you should go check out my feed (and maybe even hit that follow button 😉).

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!

  1. I definitely want to read A Court of Wings and Ruin, I mean who doesn’t? Besides that I’ve heard amazing things about When Dimple Met Rishi so I’m pretty excited about that one too. May is going to be amazing!

    1. I’m trying to read ACOWAR as fast as possible to avoid spoilers, but it’s so thick. 😅😩 I’m just hoping no one dies because I can’t handle any of my faves dying. May is definitely going to be a great reading month with all these releases.

  2. The cover American Street is gorgeous! I cannot wait to read ACOWAR and When Dimple Met Rishi… unfortunately in the UK I can’t get it until the middle of July, but at least ACOWAR is coming tomorrow!

    1. American Street is such an amazing book, it definitely deserves more hype. ACOWAR is going to give me a book hangover, but I’m hoping it doesn’t put me in a slump because I need to read the rest of the amazing releases for this month!
