The Weekly Rewind: June 17, 2018

wu

Hey guys!

This was an okay week although I do have some sad news to report. One of the stray kittens we have been feeding unfortunately got hit by a car during the early morning hours and she didn’t make it. It’s so sad because she was the most rambunctious in the group, always trying to sneak into the house and wanting to find food, so I’m definitely gonna miss that. It’s even worse for the mama cat because she hasn’t been dealing with the loss very well but hopefully she will be back to her old self sometime soon.

Anyways, let’s get to my week in blogging!

Let’s get started!

I read three books this week. I loved The One You Can’t Forget and Getting Schooled, but One Small Thing fell short for me. I’m definitely the outlier here because I know a lot of people have been loving One Small Thing so take my review, which will be live tomorrow, with a grain of salt!

I’ve only read about 5% of this book. But in my defense, I’ve bee a little busy so hopefully I can find the time to binge-read it in one sitting.

I really only requested this book because I am so in love with the cover. It just screams summer and romance and I’ve also heard a lot of good things about Brenda Jackson’s books so I’m excited to get to this one.

I'm Ari, a local NYC bibliophile and a forever daydreamer. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book and my head up in the clouds. I am also a coffee addict and a chocolate connoisseur. I fell in love with the romance genre about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop reading about happily-ever-afters, which is ironic because I'm a bit of a cynical romantic in real life, haha. I hope you all enjoy my blog and fangirling with me about all the smutty reads!

  1. Oh no! Sorry about your baby kitten. That’s so sad. Looking forward to your review of One Small Thing. Weirdly I always look forward to hear why someone didn’t like a book. Think when books are super hyped a lot of times we go into it convinced we are going to like it so it’s cool when someone’s like HERE’s the things that were wrong with the book!

    1. Thanks, Bree. We’re hoping to keep the other kittens safe so this doesn’t happen again.

I think One Small Thing is a book that might work for some and might not work for others. It’s definitely an addicting read so if you decide to pick it up, hopefully you enjoy it.

  2. I just finished Getting Schooled and adored it! I can understand why you might not have liked One Small Thing as much as I did. It’s a different kind of book than what I would normally expect from Erin Watt.
